But wait… do you also want to explore one of the most stunning cities in South America, eat the most delicious chocolate you’ll ever eat in your life, explore the Amazon jungle, and chase waterfalls? Well, we’ve got good news for you. You can find all of this and more in the gorgeous South American country of Ecuador. Smashed in between Colombia and Peru, Ecuador is definitely not as popular, but it is a super underrated destination that everyone should check out.

Ecuador quickly became one of our favorite countries when we visited it for over a month in 2023. This is the country where we got engaged, but bias aside, we still believe Ecuador is one of the most underrated destinations. Neither of us had many expectations for mainland Ecuador, as the main reason we wanted to go to the country was to go to the Galapagos, as with the majority of travelers that come to the country.
But we were VERY pleasantly surprised by how much the country offered. The Galapagos Islands were nothing short of amazing, of course, but the mainland blew our minds! And we want to share exactly how amazing the entirety of Ecuador is with you.
